Philippe Roodhooft is the Chief Operations Officer at Borouge since June 2013 when he first joined Borouge. He is Responsible for the Operations of Borouge ADP in Al Ruwais, including operations of 3 world scale ethane crackers and 10 state of the art polyolefin plants. The design capacity after completing the start-up of Borouge 3 is 4,5 Million tons.
Prior to joining Borouge, Roodhooft was the Senior Vice President Supply Chain & Product Management at Borealis Group since 2010. His responsibilities included product management, sales and operations planning, order to cash management, and global logistics & distribution for the polyolefin business.
Roodhooft started his career in 1988 as Automation Engineer at Coppée Lavalin Belgium. In 1990, he moved to Neste Chemicals Belgium (later known as Borealis N.V.) where till 1998 he took up various roles in Engineering as: Automation Engineer, Project Manager and Engineering Manager. Later at Borealis, he was responsible for various Senior Operations’ positions including Plant Manager PP3 at Borealis Belgium (1998-2001), Location Leader (2001-2005), Planning Manager at Borealis Group (2006-2007), General Manager at Borealis Central Europe (2007-2008), Senior Vice President Operations at Borealis Group (2008-2009) and Senior Vice President Supply Chain & Product Management (2010-2013).
Born in 1963, Roodhooft holds a university degree in Applied Science from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven / KUL, Belgium since 1987, and is specialised in electro mechanics and production management. He is a Belgian national.
