Brand new content

The conference agenda for ADID 2018 has been created in close collaboration with our advisory board of regional stakeholders, who gathered in Abu Dhabi earlier in the year to discuss their current priorities and challenges. Based on their feedback, we’ve updated our formats and content to create an exciting new programme! We’ve got even more interactive sessions allowing you to ask questions and share your views, pertinent topics like EVs, talent retention and the future direction of the industry, and a packed programme of technical sessions to ensure you get the information you need.

Focus on Electric Vehicles

The downstream industry globally is closely watching the rise of EVs to determine the impact they will have on future fuel requirements. With mixed opinions on both the challenges and opportunities that EVs pose to refiners, during ADID 2018 we’re bringing you expert insight from Gary West, Head of Future Mobility at General Motors, as well as a Big Debate designed to hear both sides of this controversial topic. Debate participants include thought leaders such as Stefano Zehnder, Vice President of Analytics and Consulting at ICIS, Amer Ahmad Amer, Transport Chief Technologist at Saudi Aramco, and Ivano Iannelli, CEO of Dubai Carbon, meaning that you’re sure to get the answers you need on how EVs will affect fuel requirements.

Taking the Pulse of the Industry

Ever wondered where your colleagues stand on the most divisive industry issues of the day? This NEW fully interactive session will see you vote in a series of digital polls addressing today’s hottest topics! Experts will be on hand for quick fire comments on the results of your views, giving you the insight you need to make informed decisions about your biggest current challenges.

The Future of Integration

As refinery-petrochemical integration grows increasingly significant in the region and beyond, we’ll be focusing on how to respond to a shifting industry. ADID 2018 will include a keynote address from Sanjay Sharma, Vice President, Middle East & India at IHS Markit on adapting to a changing business model, plus technical presentations from leading technology and solution providers.

A full spectrum of refinery representatives

For the first time, the 2018 ADID Summit will be co-located with the inaugural MERTC: Ask the Experts, an event designed to give process and maintenance engineers the chance to ask their technical questions to panels of industry experts. Alongside the traditional ADID delegation of senior decision-makers, you can be sure that whatever the job title you’re hoping to meet, they’ll be there!
